Veteran's Home Worship Service

On August 28th, our church will be providing a special worship service for the men at the Veteran's Home. We will lead them in singing as well as provide a short devotional. We are looking for volunteers to come and participate in the worship service and particularly for volunteers to sing. Please contact Bro. Cameron if you would like to participate in this ministry experience.

AIM Southeast Men’s Retreat 2013

If you've not done so already, please mark your calendars now for the upcoming AIM Southeast Men's Retreat, scheduled for Friday-Saturday, January 18-19, at the Ramada Inn in Cordele, Georgia.

The retreat will begin on Friday afternoon at 1:00 and will end on Saturday morning just before noon. The cost for the retreat will be $90 for single-occupancy and $65 for double-occupancy. These fees will cover room rentals and our Friday evening dinner meal as well as refreshments (e.g., snacks, cookies, water, coffee, soft drinks, etc.) throughout our time together.

Dr. Allan Coppedge will be teaching/preaching during our sessions and will address the importance of discipleship in the local church. Discipleship is not a thing of the past; neither is it an optional addition to being a follower of Christ. Rather, discipleship is the very "business" of the Church, and making disciples is our biblical mandate. In fact, as Dr. Coppedge pointed out to me recently, discipleship stems from our most fundamental understanding of God: if God is our Father, His intention is to "raise up children" (i.e., discipleship), not just to "bring them to life" (i.e., conversion).

We want to make sure that all of our men -- young and old -- know of this wonderful opportunity to learn from and be challenged by a man of Dr. Coppedge's caliber.
